Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are 18 years of age or older
• People who are planned to start a combination treatment using two chemotherapy medicines called capecitabine and oxaliplatin as part of their standard care (any dose)
• People whose treating doctor has assessed them as suitable to receive capecitabine and oxaliplatin
• People who are able to understand the study requirements and are willing and able to sign a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are known to carry certain specific genetic variations (in a gene called DPYD) that affect how the body processes certain medicines (confirm with trial site)
• People who have a medical condition known to affect how capecitabine is absorbed by the body, such as having had a particular type of stomach bypass surgery (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass) or complete removal of the stomach — note that removal of the oesophagus is not considered to cause this problem
• People who have previously been treated with a group of medicines called fluoropyrimidines (a type of chemotherapy that includes capecitabine)
• People who are currently using medicines known as DPD-inhibitors or a medicine called allopurinol
• People who are known to be pregnant at the time of starting the study
