Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
- People aged between 40 and 75 years who have noticed memory problems themselves, or whose family or friends have noticed memory problems in them.
- People whose results on a cognitive (thinking and memory) assessment fall into either the "normal" range or the "mild cognitive impairment" range.
- People who are still able to carry out basic everyday tasks on their own (such as dressing, eating, and personal care).
- People whose difficulties are limited to partial forgetfulness, while other thinking skills — such as reasoning, judgment, attention, and planning — remain intact.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a type of diabetes other than type 2, such as type 1 diabetes or gestational diabetes.
- People who have had fewer than 6 years of formal education.
- People who have had a serious blood sugar event in the past 3 months, such as severe low blood sugar, diabetic ketoacidosis, or a hyperglycemic hyperosmolar episode (confirm with trial site).
- People who have an underactive thyroid or another hormone-related condition that could affect thinking and memory.
- People with a history of head injury, depression, anxiety, delirium, severe lung or kidney disease, heart failure, or cancer.
- People who have had problems with alcohol, nicotine, or other substance dependence in the past 2 years.
- People who have taken medications for Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, or sleep/sedation within the past month.
- People who are currently taking medication intended to improve memory or thinking, such as donepezil or memantine.
- People who are unable to complete AI-based screening or follow-up assessments due to difficulties with speech, hearing, vision, or other disabilities.
