Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 18 and 75 years, of any gender
• People whose previous attempts to clear an H. pylori infection with treatment have not worked
• Women of childbearing age may be eligible if they are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and are willing to use an accepted form of contraception throughout the study and for 30 days after it ends

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have previously used the antibiotics tetracycline or furazolidone specifically to try to clear an H. pylori infection
• People who have a medical reason they cannot take the study medications
• People with serious problems affecting major organs, or severe or unstable heart, lung, or hormonal conditions
• People who regularly use anti-ulcer medications, including proton-pump inhibitors (acid-reducing drugs) taken within 2 weeks before a specific breath test, or who have used antibiotics or bismuth-containing medicines more than 3 times in the month before screening
• Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
• People who have had surgery on the upper part of the digestive system
• People who have difficulty swallowing
• People with signs of gastrointestinal bleeding or iron-deficiency anaemia
• People with a history of cancer
• People with a history of drug or alcohol misuse in the past year
• People who regularly use corticosteroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, blood thinners, or medications that affect platelet function (except low-dose aspirin under 100 mg per day)
• People with a diagnosed mental health disorder
• People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the past 3 months
• People who decline to sign the informed consent form
