Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 75 years old
  • People who have been diagnosed with stomach cancer confirmed by a laboratory tissue test
  • People who have had a specific type of stomach cancer surgery that removes the cancer completely, including at least 16 lymph nodes (called D2, R0 radical resection)
  • People who have had a laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to remove the lower part of the stomach
  • People whose cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body, and is at a stage described as T2–4aNxM0 (confirm with trial site)
  • People with a life expectancy of more than 6 months
  • People who are physically well enough to tolerate abdominal surgery, with organs functioning adequately

  • People who score 0 or 1 on another standard health scale called the ECOG Performance Status, meaning they are fully active or have only minor limitations in physical activity
  • People who have no other serious ongoing illnesses
  • People who are willing and able to follow the trial requirements throughout the study period
  • People who have provided written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People with serious liver disease (such as cirrhosis), serious kidney disease, serious respiratory disease, or poorly controlled diabetes or high blood pressure
  • People with significant heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease symptoms, difficult-to-control irregular heartbeat, a heart attack within the past 6 months, or heart insufficiency
  • People who have had an organ transplant and require medication to prevent rejection
  • People with severe or uncontrolled recurring infections, or other serious ongoing illnesses
  • People who have had another type of cancer within the past 5 years (excluding certain easily treated skin cancers and early-stage cervical cancer)
  • People with a psychiatric (mental health) condition that requires treatment
  • People with any history of organ transplantation
  • People who are currently taking part in, or have taken part in, another clinical trial within the 6 months before this study begins, or who participate in another trial during this study
