Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must have already completed the related earlier study (called RAP-219-FOS-201) and tolerated the treatment well, as judged by the study doctor.
- You have been diagnosed with focal epilepsy that has not responded well to treatment (sometimes called "refractory" epilepsy).
- Your RNS system (a brain stimulation device used to treat epilepsy) settings have been stable and unchanged.
- You have a track record of regularly checking and uploading data from your RNS device as required.
- You are in good general health apart from your epilepsy, as judged by the study doctor.
- Your body mass index (a measure based on height and weight) is between 18 and 45.
- You are willing and able to follow all the rules and requirements of the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a known allergic or bad reaction to the study drug, RAP-219.
- You have an unstable or serious medical, neurological, psychological, or behavioural condition (other than epilepsy), or abnormal test or heart scan results that the study doctor believes would put you at risk.
- You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or are able to have children but are not willing to use two effective forms of birth control at the same time during the study.
