Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) using a specific questionnaire from the World Global Gastroenterology Organization
- Your IBS has been assessed as medium or severe using a standard IBS scoring system (a score of 175 points or higher)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently taking, or have taken in the last 3 months, any products containing probiotics (such as certain yogurts, supplements, or health drinks)
- You are currently taking, or have taken in the last 3 months, any antibiotics
- You have another serious illness, such as cancer, poorly controlled high blood pressure or diabetes, liver, kidney, or heart problems, serious neurological or mental health conditions, breathing disorders like asthma or COPD, or a thyroid condition
- You have a chronic bowel condition other than IBS, such as inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, or stomach or bowel cancer
- You have recently tested positive for a gut infection called Clostridioides difficile
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant in the next 3 months
- You have been diagnosed with lactose intolerance
- You have used medications that affect gut movement or fiber supplements within the 2 weeks before the trial starts
- You are taking blood-thinning (anti-coagulant) medication
- You have taken part in another clinical trial within the last 3 months
