Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a man or woman who has been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B, or you have tested negative for hepatitis B surface antigen but have a related clinical diagnosis, and you are scheduled to have surgery on your liver, spleen, tonsils, or lymph nodes.

- You have a condition affecting your immune system or your blood's ability to clot — for example, an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, or a condition that causes low platelet counts (thrombocytopenic purpura).
- You have a serious underlying illness that affects how well your immune system works (confirm with trial site).
- The trial doctor decides, for any other reason, that it would not be appropriate for you to join the study (confirm with trial site).
