Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to read, understand, and sign a written consent form.
- Men or women aged 18–55 years old (for healthy participants) or 18–65 years old (for those with chronic hepatitis B).
- People whose Body Mass Index (BMI) falls within 18–28 kg/m² (for healthy participants) or 18–32 kg/m² (for those with chronic hepatitis B).
- People whose routine health screening tests — including blood tests, urine tests, heart tracing (ECG), abdominal ultrasound, and chest X-ray — come back normal or with only minor, non-concerning findings.
- People with chronic hepatitis B who have had a confirmed hepatitis B infection for at least 6 months before screening, with positive test results for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and/or hepatitis B virus DNA.
- Women who could become pregnant must not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and must agree to use effective contraception throughout the study period.
- Men who could father a child must agree to use effective contraception throughout the study period to protect their partner.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who also have a hepatitis C, HIV, or syphilis infection, or who have had hepatitis A, D, or E that has not been fully resolved.
- People with serious ongoing health conditions affecting the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, blood, immune system, nervous system, thyroid, digestive system, metabolism, or bones, or who have a history of cancer.
- People with a serious mental health condition that is not well controlled, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or depression.
- People whose blood pressure measures 140/90 mmHg or higher at screening and whom the trial doctor considers unsuitable for the study.
- People who have had major surgery in the 6 months before screening, or who expect to have surgery during the study period.
- People who have had a serious infection or significant injury within 4 weeks before screening.
- People with severe allergies in general, or a known allergy to this study drug or any of its ingredients.
- People who smoked more than 5 cigarettes per day (or an equivalent amount of tobacco) on average in the 3 months before screening.
- People whom the trial doctor considers unsuitable for any other reason.
