Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have used certain diabetes or weight-related injectable medications (GLP-1 or related drug classes) in the 3 months before screening
  • People who have used blood sugar-lowering medications in the 3 months before screening
  • People with a personal or family history of a specific type of thyroid cancer or a condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A or 2B
  • People with a history of pancreatitis (either short-term or long-term) or active gallbladder disease (unless the gallbladder has been surgically removed)
  • People who score 15 or higher on a depression screening questionnaire (called the PHQ) at the screening or enrolment visit
  • People with a history of moderate to severe depression, or a history of serious mental illness
  • People with high blood pressure that is not well controlled (specifically, readings at or above 160/100 mmHg before screening)
  • People who have had a cancer diagnosis in the past 5 years, with the exception of a type of skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) that has been fully treated and cured
  • People who have had a serious heart or stroke-related event in the past 6 months
  • People with a current or recent history of alcohol or drug misuse
  • People who may be allergic to any ingredient in the study drug or related medications
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people of childbearing potential who are not willing to use contraception throughout the study
  • People who, in the opinion of the trial doctor, have any other factor that might affect the safety or results of the study
