Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are willing to take part voluntarily and sign a consent form
  • People with a life expectancy of more than 12 weeks
  • People who are fully active or have only minor restrictions in daily physical activity (as measured by a standard medical scoring system called ECOG, at level 0 or 1)
  • People who have been confirmed through a tissue test to have stomach cancer or cancer at the junction of the stomach and food pipe that cannot be removed by surgery and has either spread locally or to other parts of the body

  • People who have at least one measurable tumour that can be assessed using standard imaging guidelines (RECIST v1.1)
  • People whose liver, kidneys, and other organs are functioning well enough to meet the trial's requirements (confirm specific thresholds with trial site)
  • Women of childbearing potential who have a negative blood pregnancy test within 7 days before starting treatment, and who agree not to breastfeed or donate eggs from the time of signing the consent form until 6 months after the last treatment
  • Men who agree not to donate sperm from the time of signing the consent form until 6 months after the last treatment
  • People who are able to understand what the study involves and are willing to follow all study and follow-up procedures

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or the lining around the brain or spinal cord
  • People who have nerve damage in their hands or feet beyond a mild level (greater than Grade 1)
  • People whose tumours have a tendency to bleed
  • People with serious digestive system problems that may affect how a drug is taken in or absorbed by the body
  • People who have bone spread of cancer that puts them at risk of paralysis
  • People who have had, or currently have, scarring or inflammation in the lungs, or who have severely reduced lung function
  • People who have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years, unless that cancer is considered likely to have been fully cured by treatment
  • People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
