Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are willing and able to give written consent to participate
  • Men and women aged 18 years or older

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are currently using insulin
  • People whose weight has changed by more than 5% in the last 6 months, or who have recently started taking weight-loss medications (including orlistat, bupropion-naltrexone, phentermine-topiramate, semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide, or dulaglutide)
  • People whose most recent HbA1c blood sugar reading was at or above 108 mmol/mol
  • People with significantly reduced kidney function (eGFR below 30 ml/min/1.73m²)
  • People with a known cancer diagnosis
  • People who have had a heart attack within the last 6 months
  • People with severe heart failure (classified as NYHA Grade 3 or equivalent)
  • People who are pregnant, considering becoming pregnant, or exclusively breastfeeding
  • People with a history of substance abuse involving drugs or alcohol
  • People who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, or whose responses to a screening questionnaire suggest a possible eating disorder
  • People with learning difficulties, or those who are unable to understand, speak, or read Norwegian or English
  • People who have previously been hospitalised for depression or who are currently taking antipsychotic medication
  • People who are currently taking part in another clinical research trial
