Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (whether recently or some time ago, with or without related health complications, and regardless of their blood sugar control levels), and who are being treated for type 2 diabetes at the endocrinology department of Nice University Hospital — whether as an inpatient, day patient, or outpatient
  • People who are able to understand the study information and fill in questionnaires on their own
  • People who are enrolled in the French social security system
  • People who have not raised an objection to taking part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • People under 18 years of age
  • People who are pregnant
  • People with any type of diabetes other than type 2 diabetes (for example, type 1 diabetes, or diabetes caused by another condition or a genetic reason)
  • People with haemochromatosis (an iron overload condition)
  • People with cystic fibrosis
  • People currently being treated with certain medicines that can raise blood sugar levels, including oral corticosteroids, immunosuppressive drugs, dopaminergic agonists, interferon-alpha, or protease inhibitors
  • People who have had part or all of their pancreas surgically removed
  • People currently undergoing genetic testing to investigate an unusual or unclear type of diabetes
  • People who do not speak French
  • People with a significant cognitive condition, or a physical or mental disability, that would prevent them from completing the questionnaires
  • Adults who are under a legal protection arrangement such as guardianship or curatorship
  • People who have refused to participate, or who later withdraw their agreement to participate
  • People whose later test results show they have a type of diabetes other than type 2
