Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with stomach cancer, cancer of the gastroesophageal junction (where the stomach meets the oesophagus), or oesophageal adenocarcinoma, confirmed by a tissue or cell sample.
- People whose cancer has spread to nearby areas or to other parts of the body.
- People who are in good general health and able to carry out daily activities with little or no limitation (as measured by a standard medical scale called ECOG, scores 0 or 1).
- People who have not yet received any systemic treatment (such as chemotherapy) for advanced or metastatic disease.
- People with adequate liver and kidney function as determined by the trial site.
- People whose cancer has tested negative for a protein called HER-2, based on local laboratory testing.
- People whose cancer has tested positive for a protein called PD-L1, based on local laboratory testing.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have cancer that has spread to the brain, spinal cord, or surrounding membranes.
- People with a significant risk of bleeding or abnormal connections forming between internal body parts (fistula).
- People who have had major surgery or serious physical injury within 4 weeks before starting the trial, or who have major surgery planned during the study period.
- People who have previously received an organ transplant or bone marrow/stem cell transplant from another person.
- People who have had a significant bleeding event in the 28 days before the trial starts, or who have a history of clinically significant bleeding.
- People with significant heart or blood vessel disease, or certain other serious health conditions, occurring within 6 months before starting the trial.
- People who have an autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body) that has required ongoing treatment within the past 2 years.
- People with evidence of a non-infectious or drug-related lung condition causing inflammation of lung tissue (confirm with trial site).
