Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a parent or caregiver of a child who is between 6 and 12 years old and currently attending a regular (mainstream) primary school
  • Your child has been formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist using recognised diagnostic tools
  • Your child has trouble falling asleep — typically taking more than 25 minutes to fall asleep, happening three or more nights per week, for at least three months, and this is affecting your child's daily life and/or your own
  • You own a smartphone, know how to use it, and can read and understand Chinese
  • You (as the parent or guardian) are willing and able to give written consent for your child to take part in the study
  • You and your child are able to follow the study schedule and requirements

Who may not be able to join:

  • Children who have a diagnosed intellectual disability
  • Children who have a diagnosed neurological or medical condition that could affect their sleep, such as blindness, a brain injury, epilepsy, or poorly controlled eczema
  • Children who have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder other than insomnia, or who are suspected of having sleep apnoea based on a specific questionnaire score (confirm with trial site)
