Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of stomach cancer (gastric adenocarcinoma) confirmed through a tissue test
- People who are scheduled for planned stomach cancer removal surgery intended to fully remove the cancer (open, keyhole, or robotic surgery)
- People who have had a standard abdominal CT scan with contrast dye (a type of detailed X-ray) taken within 14 days before their surgery
- People who are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who need emergency surgery due to a stomach perforation, blockage, or severe bleeding
- People where, during surgery, the cancer is found to have spread to distant parts of the body or cannot be fully removed
- People who have had another type of cancer in the last 5 years (not including the current stomach cancer)
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People whose CT scan images have significant interference from metal (such as implants) that makes the images difficult to analyse
