Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 55 and 80 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 5 years
- People who have been identified as having mild cognitive impairment (mild memory or thinking difficulties), confirmed by a specific memory test called the MoCA with a score between 18 and 25
- People whose medications have remained the same for at least 3 months
- People who are physically able to do moderate-intensity exercise, with clearance confirmed by a doctor
- People who have a carer or support person available to help with technology use if needed
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with a movement disorder such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease
- People who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease
- People who currently have severe depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, or alcohol dependence
- People who have significant disease affecting the blood vessels in the brain
- People who are currently taking certain medications that have notable effects on memory, thinking, or the nervous system — including some antipsychotics, certain antidepressants, anticonvulsants, sleeping tablets, anxiety medications, or long-term steroid treatments (confirm with trial site)
- People whose vision or hearing difficulties would significantly affect their ability to complete thinking and memory tests
- People with serious illness or major organ problems, including liver failure, kidney failure, or unstable heart disease
- People with untreated vitamin B12 deficiency or an underactive thyroid that has not been treated and stable for at least 3 months
- People with high blood pressure that is not well controlled (above 160/100 mmHg and not being treated)
- People with severely reduced kidney function (stage 5 kidney disease, or currently on dialysis)
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial
- People who are currently imprisoned
- People with any health condition that would make moderate-intensity exercise unsafe, such as severe aortic heart valve disease, poorly controlled high blood pressure, chest pain on exertion, or episodes of fainting
- People who do not have a carer or support person available to help with technology use
