Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) based on a specific set of recognised diagnostic guidelines called the DSM-5
- Children aged between 3 and 15 years old
- Children whose parents or legal guardians have signed a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- Children in Group 1 of the trial whose ASD appears alongside features that suggest an underlying genetic syndrome — for example, three or more distinct facial differences, certain physical differences or abnormalities affecting the body, or health issues involving two or more body systems. Children with these features but no confirmed genetic diagnosis would not be eligible for Group 1. However, children with these features AND a confirmed genetic diagnosis may still be considered for a separate part of the trial called Group 2 (confirm with trial site)
- Children whose ASD diagnosis was not established using a recognised, standardised diagnostic test
- Children whose parents or legal guardians are not willing to sign the consent form
- Children from whom a blood sample cannot be collected
