Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are at least 65 years old
- People with a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) between 25 and 40
- Women whose waist measurement is larger relative to their hips (waist-to-hip ratio above 0.8)

Who may not be able to join:
- People with poorly controlled diabetes, indicated by an HbA1c above 10% or current insulin use
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetic nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy), or who do not pass a screening test for it
- People who currently take statin medications (a type of cholesterol-lowering drug)
- People who have swelling caused by fluid build-up in the limbs (peripheral edema)
- People who have taken high-dose supplements that may affect muscle mass — such as creatine or HMB — or supplements that act like insulin or hormones (such as DHEA) within the 6 weeks before the trial
- People with untreated underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) or epilepsy
- People taking medications that affect blood vessel function
- People who may be pregnant
- People with any neurological (brain or nerve), heart, or musculoskeletal (muscle or joint) condition that would make exercise testing unsafe (confirm with trial site)
