Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 19 years or older who are scheduled to have surgery for gastric (stomach) cancer.
- People who have given their written agreement to take part in this study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a serious uncontrolled illness, such as poorly managed diabetes, a stroke or similar brain/blood vessel event within the past 6 months, a severe widespread infection (sepsis), or heart failure.
- People who have received nutrition delivered directly into a vein (intravenous feeding) within the 7 days before being enrolled in the study.
- People whose pre-surgery blood tests show certain significant abnormalities, including very high fat (triglyceride) levels in the blood, abnormal liver function markers, abnormal kidney function markers, poor long-term blood sugar control, or abnormal levels of certain minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium, or magnesium (confirm specific test values with trial site).
- People whom the doctor running the trial considers unsuitable for participation for any other reason.
