Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older who are able to give their informed consent to participate
- People in the Hepatitis B+D groups: those who have been confirmed to have both a hepatitis B and hepatitis D infection at the same time
- People in the Bulevirtide group: those who are currently being treated with a medication called bulevirtide, as prescribed by their doctor
- People in the No Bulevirtide group: those who are not currently being treated with bulevirtide
- People in the Healthy Control group: adults who are in general good health and do not have hepatitis B or D infection
- People who are willing to have a mouth and gum examination, provide saliva and gum fluid samples, and have photos taken of their mouth
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other long-term health conditions that could affect gum health, such as uncontrolled diabetes or autoimmune diseases
- People who are currently taking part in another experimental treatment that may affect inflammation in the mouth or body
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are unable or unwilling to give their informed consent to participate
- People who have had mouth or gum surgery in the last 6 months that could affect the study measurements
