Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are able to understand the study plan and are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
• People who have had a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for more than 3 years, and whose blood sugar has remained poorly controlled (HbA1c of 7.5% or higher for 3 months in a row) despite standard treatment
• People aged 18 to 75 years old, with a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 35 kg/m²
• People whose blood test results show a certain level of remaining insulin-producing function in the pancreas (fasting C-peptide level between 0.3 and 1.5 ng/mL)
• People who are generally able to carry out normal daily activities, as measured by a standard scoring tool (Karnofsky performance score of 70 or above)
• People with a life expectancy of more than 5 years
• People whose liver, kidney, and blood count results fall within acceptable ranges as defined by the trial
• People with no serious heart, brain, lung, or other major organ conditions, and whose vital signs are stable
• Women who could become pregnant must have a negative pregnancy test within 7 days before joining, and all participants of childbearing age must agree to use effective contraception during the study and for 1 year after it ends
• People who are willing to attend all follow-up visits and complete all required tests and observations throughout the study

Who may not be able to join:

• People with type 1 diabetes, or any other specific type of diabetes other than type 2
• People with severe diabetes-related complications, such as advanced kidney failure, severe eye disease affecting the retina, or diabetic foot wounds with infection
• People who have had a cancer diagnosis within the past 5 years, or who currently have any suspicious findings that may indicate cancer
• People who test positive for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or other specified infectious diseases
• People with active autoimmune conditions, or those who have been taking steroid or immune-suppressing medications long-term (except for low-dose hormone replacement therapy)
• People with a history of severe allergic reactions, or who are known to be allergic to any component of the cell treatment being studied
• Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
• People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial at the same time
• People with mental health conditions or difficulty following instructions that would make it hard to participate, or anyone the trial doctors consider unsuitable for other reasons
