Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been formally diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, confirmed by a blood sugar test result (HbA1c of 6.5 or higher for diabetes, or 5.7–6.4 for pre-diabetes)
- You have had a nerve conduction test (a test that measures how well your nerves carry electrical signals) that shows signs of nerve damage in your legs or feet

- You have type 1 diabetes (rather than type 2)
- You have low levels of vitamin B12
- You have low levels of folate (a type of B vitamin)
- You have a thyroid condition that is not well controlled
- You have other nutritional deficiencies that could affect your nerves (confirm with trial site)
- You have an autoimmune condition (where the immune system attacks the body)
- You have an inflammatory condition affecting the nerves (confirm with trial site)
- You have HIV or AIDS
- You have been exposed to heavy metals or toxins that could damage nerves
- You have multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer)
- You have moderate to severe narrowing of the spine in the lower back that causes pain or weakness when walking
