ASD Group
- Children or young people between 3 and 22 years old who have been formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- People who experience repeated behavioural crises or meltdowns, happening at least three times per week
- People who are enrolled in a participating school, clinic, or care service
- People whose parent or legal guardian has provided written consent to participate
- People who are old enough and able to give their own agreement to take part (where this is considered age-appropriate)
Control Group (for comparison — people without ASD)
- Children or young people between 3 and 22 years old who have not been diagnosed with ASD or any other neurodevelopmental condition
- People with no history of major psychiatric or neurological conditions
- People whose parent or legal guardian has provided written consent to participate
- People who are old enough and able to give their own agreement to take part (where this is considered age-appropriate)
Who may not be able to join:
ASD Group
- People with a known heart condition or hormonal disorder that could affect physical monitoring during the study
- People whose parent or legal guardian has not given written consent
Control Group
- People with a known heart condition or hormonal disorder that could affect physical measurements
- People who currently have a diagnosis of any neurodevelopmental or psychiatric condition
- People whose parent or legal guardian has not given consent
