Who might be able to join this trial:
- Your stomach cancer has been confirmed by a tissue biopsy showing it is locally advanced.
- You are between 18 and 70 years old (any gender).
- You are able to eat by mouth or receive liquid nutrition through a tube placed through your nose into your stomach.
- You are willing to take part in the study and have signed a consent form agreeing to participate.
- Scans (such as a CT or PET-CT) show that the cancer has not spread to distant parts of your body, and your doctor has recommended chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment before surgery.
- You do not currently have any other type of cancer alongside your stomach cancer.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a cognitive condition or mental health disorder serious enough that you cannot fully understand what the study involves or give your informed consent.
- You have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
- You have serious bowel or digestive problems, such as severe diarrhea, uncontrollable vomiting, a major problem absorbing nutrients, a bowel blockage, or active bleeding in your digestive system.
- You have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the key ingredients in the leucine-deficient nutritional powder being studied (confirm with trial site).
- You are currently taking other nutritional supplements that could interfere with the study results.
- You are unable to tolerate the chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment before surgery, or you experience severe digestive side effects from that treatment.
- After surgery, your tissue sample shows that the tumor in your stomach did not actually start there (i.e., it spread from a cancer elsewhere in your body).
