Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between the ages of 8 and 30 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), confirmed by a specific standardised assessment called the ADOS-2
- People whose ASD has been classified as severity level 1 or level 2 under the DSM-5 diagnostic system (meaning moderate support needs, not the highest level)

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have or have had serious neurological conditions, particularly epilepsy, or significant vision or hearing impairments
- People who have or have had serious ongoing health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure
- People who have or have had a serious brain injury
- People who have metal devices implanted in their body, such as a pacemaker or a medication pump
- People who have or have had serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or substance use disorders
- People who are pregnant
- People who have significant structural abnormalities in the brain, such as a growth or lesion inside the skull
- People who have previously had brain surgery or an infection affecting the brain or spinal cord
- People currently taking medications that are known to increase the risk of seizures
- People who have participated in another clinical trial within the past month
- People with damaged skin in the area of the body where the brain stimulation would be applied
- People with multiple sclerosis
- People with large areas of scar tissue from a previous stroke or loss of blood flow to the brain
- People who have had sleep disturbances during brain stimulation in the past (confirm with trial site)
- People with severe alcohol dependency
- People currently taking anti-epileptic (anti-seizure) medications
- People with migraines that cannot be controlled and are related to increased pressure in the brain
- People for whom MRI scanning is not suitable, for example due to claustrophobia
- People for whom EEG brain monitoring is not suitable (confirm with trial site)
- People whose ASD has been classified as severity level 3 under the DSM-5 system (the highest support needs level)
- People who currently have a diagnosis of major depressive disorder
- People who have had thoughts of suicide within the past year
- People currently taking tricyclic antidepressants, certain pain medications, or any other medications known to lower the threshold for seizures
