Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a family member (relative) of someone who has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease
- You are over 18 years old
- You currently experience symptoms similar to Irritable Bowel Syndrome or functional digestive problems (such as bloating, stomach pain, or discomfort), as well as symptoms that affect other parts of the body outside the digestive system
Who may not be able to join:
- You have already removed wheat from your diet on your own and are not willing to reintroduce it for testing purposes
- You have a problem with drug or alcohol use, including drinking more than roughly 2–3 standard drinks per day if you are a man, or more than 1–2 standard drinks per day if you are a woman
- You have taken steroids or common anti-inflammatory painkillers (such as ibuprofen or aspirin) within the 2 weeks before a tissue sample is taken from your small intestine
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have been diagnosed with certain ongoing health conditions, including chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, a wheat allergy confirmed by the immune system, certain bowel or digestive conditions, neurological diseases, major mental health disorders, active infectious diseases, immune system deficiencies, or conditions that significantly limit your physical activity (confirm with trial site for the full list)
