Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are a Japanese male or female patient between 2 and 17 years old at the time of agreeing to join the trial
• You have been diagnosed with epilepsy with a specific type of seizure (called focal onset seizures) that has not been fully controlled by medication for at least 6 months before joining

• You have had a severe, prolonged seizure episode that required a hospital stay within the 3 months before joining
• You have a history of seizures that are caused by psychological factors rather than epilepsy
• Your seizures are a specific type that only affect sensation or thought without any physical movement, or you have a type of epilepsy that starts in a generalised way from the beginning
• You have been diagnosed with a specific severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome
• You have a history of a serious allergic skin reaction to a medication, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome or a similar severe drug reaction, that required a hospital stay (confirm with trial site)
