Stomach Cancer Trial, Recruiting
Who may be able to join
AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI
Who might be able to join this trial:
For patient imaging data to be included:
- CT scan images (with contrast dye) must come from gastric cancer patients treated at Liaoning Cancer Hospital
- The patient must have a confirmed stomach cancer diagnosis from a tissue sample taken after surgery, with a clear record of how far the cancer has grown into surrounding tissue (classified as T1 through T4)
- The scan images must be complete and clear enough for analysis, with no major blurring or missing sections
- Full medical and pathological records must be available to allow accurate comparison against the AI results
For doctors taking part as image reviewers:
- Radiologists (doctors who specialise in reading medical scans) with a current, valid medical licence are eligible to participate
- Radiologists from either major teaching hospitals or smaller hospitals may be considered
- Both more experienced (senior) and less experienced (junior) radiologists may take part
- Doctors must be willing to review images both with and without AI assistance as part of the study tasks
Who may not be able to join:
For patient imaging data:
- Scans with severe image quality problems, such as heavy motion blurring, may not be suitable for inclusion
- Cases where no clear post-surgery cancer staging result is recorded may not be included
- Cases that do not involve stomach cancer, or where pathology records are incomplete, are not eligible
- Duplicate records or cases with inconsistent data entries are not eligible
For doctors taking part:
- Doctors who are unable to complete all required image review tasks, or who do not follow the study process, may not be eligible to remain in the study
- Doctors who withdraw partway through and cannot provide complete results for both review stages may not be included
- Doctors who do not complete both the AI-assisted and non-AI-assisted review steps as required may not be eligible
Withdrawal from the study may occur if:
- A doctor chooses to leave the study due to personal reasons such as time, health, or work demands
- A doctor does not complete the required image reviews or has too much missing data
- Critical errors are found in a patient case's data during later checks, or pathology results cannot be confirmed
- Data is found to not meet the study's ethical or quality standards
