Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with at least one fibrofolliculoma (a specific type of benign skin growth), confirmed by a tissue biopsy.
- People who have multiple small skin bumps (without a biopsy confirming fibrofolliculomas) AND either a personal or family history of a collapsed lung (that happened without injury) or kidney cancer.
- People who have had a collapsed lung (without injury) AND either skin bumps or kidney cancer, along with a family history of any of these conditions.
- People who have been found to carry a change (mutation) in a gene called FLCN, identified through genetic testing.
- People whose kidney tumour type, when examined under a microscope, shows characteristics associated with Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome (such as chromophobe, hybrid oncocytic, or oncocytoma tumour types).
- Blood relatives of someone who has been diagnosed with, or is suspected to have, Birt-Hogg-Dubé (BHD) syndrome.
- People aged 2 years or older.
- For children under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent on the child's behalf.

Primary endpoints
Identify genotype / phenotype correlations.; Determine risk of renal cancer, lung cysts and fibrofollicullomas in patients with BHD.; Determine if other genes contribute to BHD.; Define types and characteristics (including patterns of growth) of renal cancer associated with BHD.; Define the natural history of BHD related renal tumors.
