  • People who are suspected or known to have a condition called Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer Syndrome (HLRCC), which may be indicated by having skin tumours called leiomyomas along with kidney cancer; or skin leiomyomas along with uterine (womb) leiomyomas (fibroids); or multiple skin leiomyomas; or kidney cancer along with uterine leiomyomas; or a type of kidney tumour that is consistent with HLRCC (such as Collecting Duct or Papillary Type II tumours).
  • People who are a blood relative of someone who has been diagnosed with, or is suspected to have, HLRCC.
  • People who are aged 2 years or older.
  • All participants (and parents or guardians, for those under 18 years old) must sign a consent form showing they understand what the study involves and its potential risks before taking part.

Determine the incidence and characteristics of HLRCC-associated fumarate hydratase gene mutations.; Determine the clinical manifestations of HLRCC; Determine if other genes cause HLRCC.; Determine genotype/phenotype correlations.; Define the types and characteristics (including patterns of growth) of renal cancer associated with HLRCC.; Define the risk of developing renal cancer, cutaneous leiomyoma and uterine leiomyoma in this hereditary cancer syndrome.
