Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older and able to sign a consent form
- You have paralysis (not requiring a breathing machine) caused by a spinal cord injury at the mid-neck level or lower, a stroke affecting one side of the body, a traumatic brain injury, or multiple sclerosis, affecting your trunk and/or legs
- The muscles in your lower body and trunk can still receive and respond to nerve signals
- You have enough support in your daily life and a stable living situation
- You are willing to attend follow-up appointments and follow the study procedures
Who may not be able to join:
- You do not speak English
- You are currently pregnant
- You have existing pressure sores (skin wounds) that could be made worse by the study activities
- You have severe stiffness or uncontrolled muscle spasms in your arms or legs that have caused a permanent fixed position and would get in the way of study activities
- You have a history of bones breaking on their own, or other signs of very low bone density
- You have a history of inner ear/balance problems or have had unexplained falls
- You have a current, untreated bone or joint problem (such as a fracture or dislocation) that would stop you from bearing weight or exercising
