Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 2 years or older
- People who identify as African-American "Gullah" from the Sea Island region of South Carolina
- People who have been diagnosed with lupus (SLE) meeting at least 4 out of 11 specific criteria set by the American College of Rheumatology, OR who are a blood relative of someone with lupus, OR who are a healthy Gullah person with no lupus diagnosis
- People who can speak and understand English
- People who are willing and able to give their consent to take part in the study

- People who are currently in prison, receiving inpatient psychiatric care, or living in an institution
