Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with untreated AML (a type of blood cancer) or a high-risk blood disorder called MDS, and your cancer cells have one of these specific genetic changes: t(8;21), inv(16), or t(16;16)
- You are willing and able to sign a written consent form to take part in the study
- You may still be considered even if you are not in the best physical health — if you are quite unwell, the study team will discuss the right treatment schedule with you
- You may still be considered even if you have problems with certain organs, such as your kidneys, heart, or liver — the team will adjust your doses as needed
- You have had up to one previous round of treatment to try to put your cancer into remission, if your specific genetic changes were not spotted at first
- If you could become pregnant, you must be willing to use effective birth control during the trial
