Who might be able to join this trial:
- Boys and young men (ages 5–30) who have been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), whether or not they can still walk
- A DMD diagnosis may be based on symptoms starting before age 5, very high levels of a muscle enzyme in the blood, a missing or very low protein called dystrophin, or a confirmed gene change linked to DMD
- Boys and men already taking steroids or participating in other clinical trials may still be eligible
- Men (ages 18–62) who can walk and have been diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy, specifically with a certain type of gene change affecting "exon 51" or "exon 45" (confirm with trial site)
- Healthy men (ages 18–62) who can walk and have no injuries or conditions affecting their arms or legs (for comparison purposes in the study)
Who may not be able to join:
- Anyone who cannot safely have an MRI scan
- Anyone with unstable health conditions
- Anyone who is unable to cooperate during the testing process
- Anyone who has a separate condition that could affect muscle function or energy use, such as cerebral palsy, hormonal disorders, or mitochondrial disease
- Anyone who needs a breathing machine (ventilator) during the day
- Anyone who has an implanted heart device, such as a defibrillator or pacemaker
- Healthy boys or men who do competitive sports training for more than 8 hours per week

Change from baseline in intramuscular lipid up to 3-10 years; Change from baseline in muscle T2 up to 3 months in DMD; Correlation between MR measures of intramuscular lipid, functional endpoints and histological markers.
