Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have previously been diagnosed with cancer (confirmed by tissue testing), except for small cell lung cancer, lymphoma, or germ cell cancers
- People whose MRI scan shows between 1 and 4 tumours that have spread to the brain, with at least one tumour measuring more than 20mm and no larger than 50mm at its widest point, and where surgery and a targeted radiation treatment called SRS are considered appropriate options
- People who have previously had SRS treatment on other brain tumours (not the one being targeted in this trial)
- People who score 70 or above on the Karnofsky performance scale, which is a medical measure of a person's ability to carry out daily activities (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People considered medically unfit to have surgery to remove a brain tumour
- People who have previously had whole brain radiation therapy
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan for any medical reason
- People who have a physical or mental condition that would prevent them from taking part in study activities
- People who are unable or unwilling to attend all required follow-up appointments
- People whose treatment planning shows that the optic nerve or the area where the optic nerves cross cannot be kept to a radiation dose of 10 Gray or less
- People whose tumour is located in the brainstem
- People whose scans or cell tests show that the cancer has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord
