Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with one of the following lung or chest cancers — non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), oesophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC), pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour (PNET), or thymic epithelial tumour (TET) — confirmed through a tissue or cell sample.
  • People who have been seen at the Clinical Center without a final diagnosis yet, but where doctors strongly suspect one of the above cancer types while waiting for further tissue samples or test results to be reviewed.
  • People aged 18 years or older (this trial does not include children, as these cancer types are very rare in younger people).
  • People who are able to understand the study and are willing to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have an active, symptomatic serious organ condition that could make a biopsy (tissue sample procedure) more risky — such as heart disease, a recent heart attack, heart failure, or significant breathing problems.
  • People who have other active medical or mental health conditions that the lead study doctor believes could increase the risk of participating.
  • People who are HIV-positive and are not currently receiving combination antiretroviral therapy (a standard HIV treatment regimen).

This study is not part of the standard drug-approval phase pathway (for example an observational, device, behavioural, or registry study), so a phase success rate does not apply.
