Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with a liver condition called NAFLD (a build-up of fat in the liver), confirmed by an MRI scan or a tissue sample (biopsy).
• Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is 30 or higher (meaning you are classified as obese based on height and weight).
• You are between 18 and 65 years old.

Who may not be able to join:

• You are not able to understand or sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.
• Your liver fat build-up is caused by another condition or reason, such as heavy drinking, certain medications, a disease called Wilson's disease, a viral infection, or extreme dieting, among other causes (confirm with trial site).
• You drink more than 14 standard alcoholic drinks per week (if male) or more than 7 standard alcoholic drinks per week (if female).
• You are unable or unwilling to have an MRI scan — for example, due to claustrophobia, or because you have a pacemaker or a heart device fitted.
• You are not willing to be told about any unexpected findings discovered during your MRI scan.
• You are unwilling to provide body fluid or tissue samples (such as blood samples) for the study.
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are planning to have, or have already had, weight-loss (bariatric) surgery, or are expected to have it within one year of joining the trial.
• You have been diagnosed with severe liver scarring (cirrhosis) or liver cancer.
• You currently have, or have been diagnosed with, a cancer outside the liver within the last 5 years.
• You are about to have, or are currently recovering from, a medical or surgical procedure that would interfere with the study — though you may be invited to join at a later date (confirm with trial site).
