Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been newly diagnosed with or have had a return of acute leukemia, including those whose leukemia did not respond to initial treatment attempts.
- People diagnosed with certain blood and bone marrow conditions — myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), or an overlap of both — who meet at least one of the following: low levels of two or more types of blood cells (low red blood cells, platelets below 100,000, or infection-fighting cells below 1,000); more than 5% abnormal cells (blasts) in the bone marrow or any abnormal cells in the blood; disease that has gotten worse or has not responded to certain standard treatments or a clinical trial; a disease severity rating of "Intermediate-1" or higher on standard scoring systems used by doctors (confirm with trial site).
- People with a bone marrow scarring condition called myelofibrosis who have low-risk disease but also have anemia requiring blood transfusions, certain abnormal cell levels in the blood, or certain chromosomal changes — or anyone with myelofibrosis rated "Intermediate-1" or higher on a standard severity scale (confirm with trial site).
- People whose acute leukemia or MDS/MPN has returned after having received a bone marrow or stem cell transplant from a donor.
- People aged 18 to 80 years old.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose diagnosis is polycythemia vera (a condition where the body makes too many red blood cells) or essential thrombocytosis (a condition where the body makes too many platelets).
