Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are approved by your government's health coverage to receive a type of immunotherapy drug called a PD-1 inhibitor.
• Your cancer can be tracked and monitored by your doctor, even if it cannot be precisely measured on scans.
• If your melanoma has spread to the brain, it must have been stable (not growing or spreading) for at least four weeks, or have been treated with surgery or a targeted type of radiation, with no signs of new or growing tumours.
• You are able and willing to fill out quality-of-life questionnaires in either English or French before joining the trial.
• You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.
• You are able to attend all required appointments for treatment and follow-up.
• You must join the trial either before starting PD-1 inhibitor treatment, or within 16 weeks of starting it, and must have had recent scans (within the last 50 days) showing no new cancer progression.

Who may not be able to join:

• You are not willing to pause or stop your PD-1 inhibitor treatment if assigned to the group that takes breaks from treatment.
• You have a medical reason why you cannot take PD-1 inhibitor drugs, or you do not qualify to receive them under your health coverage.
