Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of oesophageal cancer (called early oesophageal adenocarcinoma) that is either in the deeper layer under the lining of the oesophagus, or is a higher-risk surface-level cancer, as confirmed by a specialist digestive system pathologist examining a tissue sample removed during a procedure.
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously been treated for a higher-risk surface-level or deeper oesophageal adenocarcinoma of the same type.
- People who also have a different type of oesophageal cancer called squamous cell carcinoma at the same time.
- People where scans or ultrasound examinations (performed within six weeks of the tissue removal procedure) show any sign that the cancer may have spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
- People whose tissue sample showed that cancer cells were present at the deepest edge of the removed tissue, meaning the cancer may not have been fully removed.
- People who are unable to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
