Who might be able to join this trial:
For the patient:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have a diagnosis of AML (a type of blood cancer) or MDS-EB (a bone marrow disorder) and whose medical team has determined they need a specific type of stem cell transplant called a haplo-HSCT
- People for whom no fully matched related or unrelated stem cell donor is available
- People whose transplant doctors have determined their organs are functioning well enough and that there are no medical reasons preventing them from having a haplo-HSCT
- People who have a partially matched (haploidentical) relative available as a donor
- People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate
For the donor:
- Adults aged 18 or older who are a partially matched (haploidentical) parent, sibling, or other relative of the patient
- Donors considered medically suitable for cell donation and the collection process (apheresis) based on standard medical criteria
- Donors who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
For the patient:
- People diagnosed with APL (a specific subtype of blood cancer)
- People whose blood tests show high levels of certain antibodies (called donor-specific anti-HLA antibodies) that could cause problems with the donor's cells (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant
- People who require immune-suppressing medications for reasons other than preventing a transplant complication called graft-versus-host disease (GvHD)
For the donor:
- Donors who are pregnant
