Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- (Group 1) You have a suspicious spot in the head and neck area that doctors think may be a spread of cancer or a return of cancer
- (Group 2) You have been confirmed by biopsy to have head and neck cancer or thyroid cancer (certain types) that has come back or spread, located in the head and neck area only
- (Group 2) You are planning to receive your treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) cancer center
Who may not be able to join:
- You would need to be put under general anesthesia (fully asleep) to take part in the study
- You experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces, such as an MRI machine)
- You are planning to receive your cancer treatment somewhere other than MSK
- You have had a known allergic or bad reaction to a gadolinium-based contrast dye (a liquid used to improve MRI scan images)
- You have a pacemaker (a heart device)
- You have aneurysm clips (small metal clips placed in the brain or blood vessels)
- You have any other implanted device or metal in your body that is not safe for MRI scans
- You are pregnant
- Due to age or mental status, you are unable to stay still and cooperate during an MRI scan (confirm with trial site)
