Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with a type of non-small cell lung cancer, such as squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, large cell carcinoma, bronchioalveolar carcinoma, or a similar type.
• Your cancer is at an early stage, specifically classified as T1 N0 M0 or T2 (tumor no larger than 5 cm) N0 M0, meaning the cancer has not spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
• Any lymph nodes near your lungs or chest that looked slightly concerning on scans must have tested negative for cancer on biopsy before you can join.
• You are in reasonably good general health, able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirmed by your doctor within 4 weeks of joining).
• You are willing and able to use effective birth control during the trial (applies to both women who could become pregnant and male participants).
• You have had a physical examination by a radiation oncologist within 4 weeks of joining the trial.
• You have been evaluated by a chest surgeon before joining the trial.
• You have had breathing/lung function tests done within 8 weeks of joining the trial.
• You have had a CT scan of your chest within 6 weeks of joining the trial.
• You have had a whole-body PET scan within 6 weeks of joining the trial.
• You have read, understood, and signed the informed consent form.

Who may not be able to join:

• Your tumor is located in a central part of the lung, close to the main airways in your chest.
• Your cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes or to other parts of your body.
• You have more than one primary lung cancer at the same time.
• You have been diagnosed with another cancer in the past 2 years, except for certain skin cancers, early-stage (in situ) cancers, or thyroid cancer.
• You have previously had radiation treatment to your lungs or the area in the middle of your chest.
• You are planning to receive any other cancer treatments — such as chemotherapy, standard radiation, surgery, or biological therapy — at the same time as this trial.
• You currently have an active infection in your body, lungs, or around your heart.
• You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
