- Adults aged 18 or older who are scheduled to have laparoscopic weight-loss surgery (gastric bypass or sleeve surgery) at the participating hospital.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose overall health before surgery is rated as very poor (above a certain medical risk level — confirm with trial site)
- People with heart or cardiovascular conditions that cause a very slow heart rate (fewer than 50 beats per minute)

- People who do not have sufficient knowledge of the Swedish language

- People who are pregnant

- People who have a pacemaker or an implanted cardiac defibrillator (ICD)
- People who are unable to complete questionnaires
- People who do not wish to take part in the trial
