Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have experienced actual or threatened sexual violence during military service (from the Vietnam era through to more recent conflicts including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn)
  • People who have been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of military sexual trauma, with a symptom score above a certain level (above 40 on a clinical scale called the CAPS)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have ever been diagnosed with, or currently have, schizophrenia, another psychotic disorder, or bipolar disorder
  • People who have taken part in another clinical trial or been receiving a formal evidence-based treatment for PTSD or military sexual trauma-related mental health conditions within the past 3 months
  • People who have a significant unstable medical condition or brain-related impairment that would prevent them from attending sessions regularly or completing assessments
  • People who, in the opinion of the trial investigator, currently present a risk of harm to themselves or others
  • People who have had a substance dependence problem in the past 90 days
