Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older.
- People who are willing to take part in the study.
- People who are able to understand and sign a consent form.
- People diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, or locally advanced non-inflammatory breast cancer, who are having lymph nodes removed from the armpit area and are expected to receive radiation therapy.
- People diagnosed with melanoma (including cases where the original source of the melanoma is unknown) who are having lymph nodes removed from the armpit area — this group would participate as a comparison group in the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have taken blood-thinning medications within 7 days before their surgery.
- People who are known to be pregnant at the time of surgery.
- People who are not available for follow-up appointments for at least 18 months, or who are unlikely to attend measurements within the scheduled timeframes.
- People with a body mass index (BMI) higher than 50.0 (a measure of body weight relative to height).
