Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing to give their formal agreement to participate in the study
- People who are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (this is measured using a standard medical scale called ECOG, with scores 0–2)
- People who have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (a type of cancer) of the mouth, confirmed through a tissue sample, and who have already had surgery to remove the tumour, including removal of lymph nodes on at least one side of the neck
- People whose surgery results show certain features that mean their treating doctor is recommending post-operative radiation therapy — such as close or positive surgical margins, cancer cells found in blood or nerve pathways, more advanced tumour size, or cancer found in the lymph nodes

Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious health conditions or other reasons that would make radiation therapy unsafe for them
- People who have had a head or neck cancer diagnosis within the past 5 years
- People who currently have another active cancer, other than certain non-melanoma skin cancers
- People who have previously received radiation therapy to the head or neck at any point in their life
- People who have previously had cancer-related surgery on the mouth or neck
- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body
- People in whom the cancer has been found to have come back in the local area after surgery but before radiation therapy has started
- People who would not be able to complete the full course of radiation therapy or attend all required follow-up appointments
- People who are unwilling or unable to fill out quality-of-life questionnaires as part of the study
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
