Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who received a heart transplant at least 3 months ago
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who do not have donor-specific antibodies (proteins that could attack the transplanted heart) at the time of joining the trial
- People whose kidney function is significantly reduced — either measuring below a certain level, or having dropped by more than half since the time of their heart transplant, and remaining stable for at least 15 days
- People who received anti-lymphocyte serum as part of their transplant treatment
- People who have tested positive for the Epstein-Barr virus (a common virus most people have been exposed to)
- People who have signed a consent form after receiving full information about the trial
- People of childbearing age who have a negative pregnancy test and agree to use effective contraception throughout the trial and for 6 weeks after it ends
- People who are able to understand and communicate with the trial team
- People enrolled in a French Social Security scheme
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a second heart transplant or any other solid organ transplant
- People with a history of organ rejection
- People who showed signs of cellular or humoral rejection (immune reactions against the transplanted heart) in a biopsy taken 3 months after their heart transplant
- People who currently have an active viral infection, such as cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, or similar viruses
- People who have tested positive for HIV
- People currently taking part in another clinical trial
- People with any medical condition that the trial doctor considers unsafe for participation, such as an ongoing serious infection, a progressing heart complication, or an active cancer
- People who would be unable to follow the trial procedures as required
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are under legal guardianship or a court-ordered protection measure
