Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are currently serving in the military or are military veterans, aged 18 or older
- People who are able to understand and agree to participate in the study on their own
- People who have experienced at least one seriously distressing or traumatic event (such as those listed on a standardised trauma checklist called the LEC-5)
- People who score 3 or above on a short standard screening questionnaire for post-traumatic stress symptoms (called the PC-PTSD-5)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently having thoughts of suicide or harming others with a specific plan, or who have a substance use problem that requires medical detox either now or within the past month
- People who have completed a specific PTSD assessment tool (called the CAPS or PSSI) within the past year
- People who are currently receiving any therapy or counselling specifically for PTSD
- People with moderate to severe difficulties with memory or thinking, as measured by a standard cognitive assessment tool called the MoCA
- People who, in the past month, have had a diagnosis of Bipolar I, Bipolar II, Schizophrenia, or another psychotic disorder that is not currently being treated with medication
