Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 1 and 26 years old
- You have a brain or spinal cord tumor that has come back or stopped responding to treatment and there are no standard treatment options left, OR you have a specific type of brainstem tumor (DIPG or DMG) and have already finished standard treatment
- You are able to undergo a procedure to collect immune cells from your blood (called apheresis), or your immune cells have already been collected and are available to use
- You have a small device (such as an Ommaya or Rickham reservoir) already placed in your brain or spinal area to deliver treatment
- Doctors expect you to live for at least 8 weeks
- You are still able to carry out a reasonable amount of daily activities, as measured by a standard medical scoring tool
- If your immune cells have not already been collected, enough time has passed since your last cancer treatments (chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or antibody therapy) and your body has recovered from their side effects
- If you are taking steroid medications (like dexamethasone), your dose has been stable or reducing in the week before joining, and is below a certain level
- Your heart, liver, kidneys, and other organs are working well enough
- Your blood test results meet the required levels
- If you are able to have children, you agree to use highly effective birth control during the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have significant heart problems or a serious irregular heartbeat that needs medical treatment
- You have a condition where your immune system does not work properly, or your bone marrow does not produce enough blood cells
- There are signs — from symptoms or scans — that your brain may be at risk of a dangerous shift or herniation
- You have severe difficulty swallowing (beyond a certain level of severity)
- You have another active cancer in addition to your brain or spinal cord tumor
- You currently have a serious active infection
- You are currently receiving any anti-cancer treatment or chemotherapy
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You or your legal guardian are unwilling or unable to agree to being followed up for 15 years after the trial
- You have any other condition that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe for you to take part (confirm with trial site)
